Our latest signing, Katzenjammer is a group of four extremely talented girls who play a variety of acoustic instruments, while singing four-part harmionies. Their music invites you to come along on a journey that carries you from Montremarte a la 1900 via late Tivoli nights on Coney Island, pre-revolutionary Russian circus, and gypsy caravans to dusky whiskey bars on Oslo's east side. Katzenjammer are multi-instrumentalists, mastering a large number of different instruments, including the tuba, the balalaika bass, drums, harmonica, piano, banjo, accordion, mandolin, trumpet, guitar, melodica, etc. They are inspired by innumerable music genres, blended together in their own unique musical interpretation. Their debut album, “Le Pop”, is produced by Propeller’s own Kåre Chr. Vestrheim and Mike Hartung (who also produced Superfamily, Hanne Hukkelberg, Jaga Jazzist, Marit Larsen and Shining). The songs are written by Katzenjammer and their mysterious “fifth member”, Mats Rybø. Katzenjammer is already established as an extraordinary live band. This summer, they traveled extensively, playing at festivals and other events, where their original, catchy music, high-energy show, and lively stage personalities captivated audiences of all types. |
