Awarded the National Grammy award for best pop group’07 - SUPERFAMILY´s sound is probably most accurately described as a mixture of Joy Division and ABBA: dark chordal passages with vocal lines tuned in major.
Their 2007 single “The Radio Has Expressed Concern About What You Did Last Night” was recently voted one of the top 10 Norwegian songs of the decade. After Propeller Recordings signed the band in the men´s bathroom at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Oslo in 2004, SUPERFAMILY released their debut album “Back In Paris” (2005), an ambitious and provocative long-player. Their 2007 release, “Warszawa”, became an instant classic in Norwegian pop, and suddenly SUPERFAMILY was filling clubs and concert halls, growing into one of the number one bands on Norwegian rock radio. In 2009, the band released its critically acclaimed third album, “Guns Tonight”, and SUPERFAMILY is better than ever. In their native Norway, they have become one of the biggest acts since Turbonegro and A-ha. |
